While SDG 6 aims to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030, the current level of WASH financing is too low to achieve universal access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation and hygiene. The traditional approach of relying on the public sector isn’t cutting it. We must innovate our financing strategies.
